Dear Joan,
My wife, Maria, and I want to offer our sympathy and empathy at the loss of Rodney. He was, and IS, the greatest! I would have loved to meet him. He has brought us such joy over the years! Take care, and God bless you.
Sincerely,
Francis and Maria Glassmire

I rember growing up I used to listen to Rodney and find out what "NO Respect" joke he would come up with next.

The world as lost a valuable comedian and humanitarian, and I know he has respect now.

Rodney, on october the 5th the world has lost a very important person. Not many people manage to dispense happyness like you did over your entire career and beyond. When I am down and need a boost, I just play one of your movies and it workes all the time. I wish you " all the respect You deserve" Farewell my good friend.

Rodney you were the best there ever was.
50 years from now they'll still be talking about how great you were.I'm a 27year old stand-up comic who wouldn't be in the game if wasn't for people like you.Your life appitamized the true meaning of humor and what it means to be funny.I wish you could've stuck around a little bit longer to see me breakout in the industry.I think you would've got a kick out of me.I just finished reading your autobiography and I
see it was one wild
ride you took. You lived life the best way you knew how,by giving the world the gift of your talent. It was your tireless work ethic and zest for living that has instilled the strength in me to persevere in the world of stand-up.Even though you'll never get to read this I just want to say thankyou
for all you've given us and every
-thing that you've made me learn.I will
miss and remember you always and let me tell you ,I get no respect either!
